Getting ready for Gen Con 2026

Less than a week away from the western hemisphere’s largest (I’ll have to check that stat, but I’m pretty sure I’m right) tabletop game convention and we are excited… and slightly panicked! Since we’re determined to launch Boiling Point! soon (exact date TBD), it’ll be one of our few chances to make a bigger splash for ourselves.

As always, you can find Richard demo-ing or talking about the game somewhere within the halls of the Indiana Convention Center (most likely in first exposure or the BIPOC lounge), while I’m running around checking out games, and art, and ever-enticing food trucks with their exceedingly long wait lines. And our artist extraordinaire, Zack, will be there on hand as well!

If you’re interested in joining us in the First Exposure Playtest Hall, we’ll be there for most of Thursday 7/30: 8am-10am, 12pm-2pm, 6pm-10pm. If you have the time to check it out, the hall is always packed with amazing new indie games and designers just waiting to be discovered. We’d love to meet as many interested folks as possible, so please stop by!

Last year was my first time attending Gen Con – and the vibes were immaculate and overwhelming. I’m determined to attend every chance I get, but I should always remember to pack comfy shoes, water, and lots of room for shopping bags. Here’s my random list of things I’m particularly excited about: aforementioned games, art, and food trucks, a Matt Dinniman signing event in prep for some new Dungeon Crawler Carl game releases, exploring Downtown Indy during breaks, spotting famous tabletop gaming influencers (yes, Tom Vasel really is that tall), getting there early for Cardhalla, and of course, just hanging out with friends we’ve made along the way and meeting more lovely folks in the industry.

6+ days to get the boiling pot cookin’!
